N.A.E.T.
NAET views an allergic substance as any material that causes blockages in the
body’s energy pathways, commonly called meridians, disrupting the body’s
functions and resulting in a variety of symptoms. The symptoms are simply the
body’s way of telling us that there is an energy blockage. Unlike the
traditional view of allergies as an overreaction of the immune system, NAET
offers a way to correct the energy imbalances and restore the patient to
complete health. By removing energy blockages, NAET eliminates the allergy and
the resulting symptoms.
According to the NAET theory, when an allergen enters or contacts the body,
there is a reaction between the energy field of the allergen and that of the
allergy sufferer. In the initial reaction, the brain identifies the allergen and
alerts the immune system, which then locates the allergen and responds by
producing antibodies. As the immune response progresses, histamines are released
which block the flow of energy through the meridian pathways. The blockage of an
energy meridian can result in the exhibition of a variety of symptoms. The type
of reaction or symptom is dependent upon the meridian which is blocked.
NAET uses Muscle Response Testing (MRT) to indicate the energy imbalances caused
by the allergen and then acts to clear energy blockages. The patient holds the
offending allergen. Chiropractic techniques are used on the spine to stimulate
the spine and to clear blockages in the meridian pathways. Acupuncture points
are then stimulated to balance the body's reaction to the offending allergen. The body can take up to 25 hours to clear its pathways and “clear” the allergic
substance. During this clearing time, the offending substance must be avoided so
that the body can rebalance itself. Normally, only one substance is treated at a
time. If an individual is sensitive to numerous allergens, repeated NAET
treatments are usually required. However, once an individual has cleared a
particular allergen, they should not require treatment for the same substance
again. At the end of the 25-hour period the patient can "challenge" the
desensitization process. It is important to realize that muscle testing is not a
definitive test for allergens. The ultimate test is coming into contact with the
offending substance again, and seeing if any energy blockages and/or symptoms
return. Remarkably, for most patients, after one treatment, the allergic
substance no longer produces symptoms. (Sometimes several treatments are
necessary depending on the severity of the allergy.)
